IS LENOVO A GOOD LAPTOP BRAND: THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW!

Lenovo has been at the top of the industry, and that’s for a good reason! Their laptops are known for AMAZING HARDWARE, BUILD QUALITY, and RELIABLE BATTERY LIFE.

So now you must be wondering about these great laptops and what makes them so VALUABLE in all the laptop types and user niches that they cater to, namely:

  • Budget laptops
  • Business laptops
  • Gaming laptops

They prove themselves to be a constant force in the industry, and here are the reasons why they are VERY POPULAR LAPTOPS that the crowd just LOVES!

Strong Points: Why You Should Get A Lenovo Laptop!

Phenomenal Features

First thing’s first that I’d like to put out there: YOU CAN NEVER GO WRONG WITH A LENOVO LAPTOP!

These powerful machines can pack a good punch, even as a mobile computer! They are built to be DURABLE and RELIABLE, so finishing your daily tasks will be a breeze.

Take the Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon: A Perfect Business Laptop, for example. This laptop has been the HALLMARK in the world of business-oriented laptops, and there are no signs of slowing down!

They boast powerful processors with the Intel Core series, long battery life, HD displays, and sleek design aesthetics!

Lenovo offers the right kind of specifications to meet your demands. They offer world-class business systems and mean gaming machines that are PACKED with features.

There’s one for EVERYONE!

Stellar Product Series

I’ll be upfront with you and tell you that Lenovo laptops are just PHENOMENAL. And no I am not kidding! This PC manufacturer means REAL BUSINESS when it comes to making good laptops.

Their budget laptops can deliver your daily tasks like web surfing, basic data entry, and streaming to your heart’s content!

One of the notable Lenovo notebooks you can check out is the Lenovo Yoga Chromebook C630. It’s definitely worth a PEEP!

On the other side of the spectrum, their premium business laptops make waves with the power and functionality it delivers!

The Yoga series, especially the gorgeous Yoga C930 delivers the performance demand you need, and is also one of the best looking laptops around! Lenovo sure didn’t make any compromises to deliver!

Meanwhile, their gaming laptop line gives a power-to-performance ratio that is DEFINITELY OFF THE CHARTS!

Just imagine, portable gaming rigs that pack heavy punches? Lenovo has the answer to that with their Lenovo Legion line!

TL;DR: Their diverse product line gives something for everyone, at different price points, too! Lenovo takes this win as the best laptop brand for variety and performance.

Amazing Design

What makes the Lenovo laptops stand out highly is the SLEEK and STREAMLINED designs they’re known for!

Whether they’re business laptops or gaming laptops, these are known to have that HIGH LEVEL of portability and compactness!

These are SLEEK and SEXY LAPTOPS that have so much power inside of them, and it’s definitely something you’d love, especially if you like minimalistic designs!

This aspect of Lenovo laptops makes them a GREAT PERSONAL CHOICE for me. I like having that essence of streamlined minimalism that is still jam-packed and optimized in the hardware!

See the Lenovo Yoga series, for example. These laptops are well-built, well-designed, and made to last you a REAL WHILE as an investment for your daily work and play!

From video editing to games, it can surprise you!

So basically, the Yoga and the ThinkPad series put Lenovo on the map for that TOP STATUS in the industry, giving other brands a healthy dose of competition to make the best laptops.

While of course, design is subjective, you still can’t go wrong with Lenovo’s laptop offerings that pack REAL POWER inside of them!

Constant Innovation

Of course, as time goes by, technology constantly develops as well, and I can definitely say that Lenovo is up to pace with their INNOVATIVE SOLUTIONS in their products!

In the technology industry, INNOVATION is TRULY KING, and certain models from Lenovo surely are a testament to that.

Enter The Lenovo Yoga Series

Lenovo doesn’t fall short in introducing functional concepts for laptops that can give users all of their needs in one device!

With the Yoga Book C930, you get two functions in one that will make digital artists DROOL!

Can you imagine a laptop that has superior audio and graphics, but also features a tablet mode that functions as an illustration pad?

To make things even better, it has the iconic watchband hinge that rotates 360°, making transformations for this 2-in-1 EASY AND SEAMLESS.

It’s the convertible laptop that you need, and it has a traditional keyboard that transitions to a screen-based keypad for that EXTRA FLEXIBILITY!

DID I MENTION THAT YOU CAN USE THIS AS AN E INK READER, TOO?

Don’t get me started with the audio experience! It managed to squeeze in a Dolby Atmos soundbar!

While it rivals the competing HP Envy x360, this Yoga Book can keep itself rooted in the amazing features that it can flex against it!

Just imagine the features and functionality you’re getting from this innovative Lenovo laptop.

Value for Money

With the large selection of laptops to choose from, there is definitely a new laptop for everybody with Lenovo!

The entry-level devices are well-made and affordable, making them extremely practical for those looking for a daily driver without breaking the bank.

An affordable budget laptop will only cost you as much as $220! Check out the Lenovo Chromebook 2ND Gen.

They also have offerings for the other side of the spectrum!

If you want a device that’s been MAXED OUT in SPECS where you get what you’re paying for, you can never go wrong with their offerings, as well!

Warranty

A noteworthy thing for Lenovo compared to other brands is their warranty and coverage for their products!

All their laptops come with the standard 12-month warranty, which is the industry standard!

But, it’s important to note it can also extend up to 36-months depending on the unit. It’s not something that competitors have, so GOOD ON YOU LENOVO!

The Verdict

These are the range of things that make Lenovo one of the best laptop brands out there.

Their commitment to making the best possible product for each demographic is something VERY NOTABLE!

From innovative features, sleek design, and affordable yet OPTIMIZED LAPTOPS, Lenovo proves that they deserve a reputation for the quality of their product.

But, Where Does Lenovo Fall Short?

And, of course, we still need to realize that nothing is perfect, and there are still some things that are open to nitpicking.

While the little drawback isn’t completely fatal it’s still important to take note of where you’re headed, in case you take the jump for Lenovo.

Technical Support

While Lenovo does provide good support via their online database and mobile app, you might feel a bit disappointed if you reach out to their socials and phone agents for help.

The response time in trying to get some assistance can get sadly frustrating, especially when you need an immediate fix to your laptop problem.

What makes up for that is the detailed website that could be helpful to your needs! But if your problem is out of the provided information, it might feel like you’d be stuck in a tight spot.

So basically, it’s a minor nitpick that I hope Lenovo can improve in the future!

Internal System Issues

Some users reported their motherboard, hard drive, and even BIOS crashing after a year of use.

Although this generally a common issue for most laptops, this is still something worth noting about Lenovo laptops.

However, later models released by Lenovo have shown a considerable decline of these issues.

The ThinkPad: The Lenovo Laptop that Changed The Game!

Ah yes, the Lenovo ThinkPad, the laptop that brought the brand to its fame, especially in the tech and business industry!

The ThinkPad is the bread and butter of the brand, and that is definitely for a good reason. They’re known as one of the BEST LAPTOPS OUT THERE!

The Lenovo ThinkPad Series has a cult following, which is HIGHLY interesting. It’s built like a TANK and has the features that can be MAXED OUT, too!

It has this mobile professional vibe, with a touch of SLEEK BUSINESS CASUAL. It’s tough, it’s very functional, and most importantly, it’s BUILT TO LAST.

The cream of the ThinkPad crop is, of course, the Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon. It comes in a carbon fiber chassis, long battery life of 15 hours, and a multi-touch screen, it’s a mobile powerhouse.

No wonder it won the Best Business Laptop award at the CES 2018!

The Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon truly is an ULTRALIGHT and ULTRAPOWERFUL business laptop that will leave you thunderstruck!

And the best part? It’s light, weighing less than 2.5 lbs.

This monumental laptop rivals other competitors like the Dell XPS-15, but I assure you this can definitely pack a hard punch against it!

Enter the World of Lenovo Gaming Laptops

Lenovo wouldn’t let themselves pass on the opportunity to tap into the market of gaming laptops, and their take on these portable powerhouses is REMARKABLE.

With their gaming sub-brand Lenovo Legion, they are offering the gateway to the portable gaming world with their offerings.

These mean machines are unlike other laptops in the industry!

They are sleek and stylish design with specs on par with competitors, while still being an affordable option!

If you’ve been looking for a gaming laptop that’s PACKED with POWER for gaming, video editing, or purely creative work, the Lenovo Legion series is DEFINITELY the way to go.

What Are The Best Lenovo Laptops Out There?

Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon: A Perfect Business Laptop

Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon

This ThinkPad is the epitome of HIGH POWER and PORTABILITY in a package. It’s a powerhouse, on the go!

It has a stellar set of features for a laptop that will surprise you, giving competitors like both HP and Dell a run for their products.

It’s sleek, it’s cool and it’s HIGHLY FUNCTIONAL for that exceptional experience that you need on a laptop.

Another interesting thing about this laptop is its MILITARY-GRADE TOUGHNESS that ensures this sleek beast runs smoothly in any condition. It’s basically BUILT TO LAST YOU FOR YEARS.

But of course, with this kind of power in a laptop, it won’t come cheap, so best to keep that in mind! It’s still a worth-it investment with the value you’re getting from it, though!

Convinced to get a ThinkPad yet? Check out these specs!

  • Processor: Intel Core i7 with vPro
  • Display: 14″ Full High Definition+
  • Memory: Up to 32GB LPDDR4x
  • Graphics: Integrated Intel Iris Xe Graphics

Lenovo IdeaPad 320: Your Daily Driver Laptop

Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon

Maybe you’ve been looking for a laptop you can use for your daily work tasks or just do your own thing at your own time.

Well, Lenovo has something for you to accompany you on your day! Everything about the IdeaPad 320 is there to make things a whole lot easier.

The IdeaPad has been known as a reliable series from the brand, and that’s for a good reason. It’s your affordable option to get without compromising on performance!

It packs the performance you can count on, and durability you can trust.

Trust me, this one is something you can lean on for both work and play. A fun way to make your days a BREEZE!

But a thing I’d like to point out with this laptop, though is the battery life that it packs. It sadly falls a bit short, with 4 and a half hours of use.

But still, I know you’re curious about what’s inside, so check them out!

  • Processor: Intel Core i5
  • Display: 15.6″
  • Memory: 8GB DDR
  • Graphics: Intel HD Graphics 620
  • Storage: 1TB HDD

Lenovo Legion Y740: A Beast of a Gaming Laptop

Lenovo Legion Y740

Immersing yourself in a video game is a surreal experience, and I’m definitely sure this release from Lenovo wouldn’t disappoint!

Why? Because it’s packing that DESKTOP RIG CALIBRE in a PORTABLE PACKAGE!

The Legion Y740 is definitely a new way to experience your favorite games, especially with the support of the NVIDIA GeForce RTX series!

It’s stylish for that sleek Lenovo personality but a still complete SAVAGE for play, so don’t underestimate what comes in this small package.

And the best part? It has a BEZEL-FREE screen to really put you into the action! There are so many good things about this laptop.

A small drawback about this beast is it falls a bit short on battery life, but it’s completely understandable for gaming laptops of this caliber!

Lenovo certainly outdid themselves on this one with their Legion brand releases, and I’m definitely excited for more releases in the future.

Check out the Y740’s KILLER SPECS here!

  • Processor: Intel Core i7
  • Display: 15.6″ Full High Definition, 144hz refresh rate, NVIDIA GSYNC
  • Memory: Up to 32GB 2666 MHz
  • Graphics: Up to NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 with Max-Q Design
  • Storage: Up to 512 GB PCIe NVMe, Up to 2 TB HDD

Lenovo Chomebook Duet: Your Choice for A Budget Laptop

Lenovo Chomebook Duet

The best part about the Lenovo Chromebook Duet is you can take it anywhere with you, with NO HASSLE INVOLVED!

It’s a 2-in-1 device that guarantees FLEXIBILITY for your daily needs, all the while being optimized for your tasks and entertainment needs.

You’re getting what you pay for and more as an entry-level budget option that most people will find satisfaction in!

If you need a quick and cheap solution for your business that is ultraportable and has all the flexibility that it can offer, don’t hesitate with getting the Chromebook Duet!

A thing to keep in mind though is that it doesn’t have that pure laptop power, since it is still a tablet-laptop hybrid, so it doesn’t have the juice for serious multitasking and heavy software.

This one is ideal for keeping notes, surfing the net, and simple data entry. Still, you can never go wrong at this price point, though!

Check out the specs here:

  • Processor: MediaTek Helio P60T
  • Display: 10.1 Touch Screen FHD
  • Memory: 4GB
  • Graphics: ARM G72 MP3
  • Storage: 64 GB

Lenovo vs The Competition: How Does It Fare?

A new laptop is definitely a huge consideration, and it may take you some time to think! After all, it’s a HUGE INVESTMENT!

Most Lenovo laptops obviously pack a STRONG SUIT against competing laptop brands.

So now, you might be considering spending your cash on a well-known brand, and maybe you’re thinking about getting an Apple, Dell, or HP laptop.

While these brands are renowned, especially with the XPS series from Dell and the Envy series from HP, the price to performance ratio with Lenovo gives the brand an edge.

I’m here to tell you though that Lenovo as a brand can really keep up with them, and the brand offers more affordable options for you to choose from, too!

So Tell Me More About Lenovo…

Lenovo is a Chinese company that is well known around the world for its computer hardware manufacturing.

  1. Well, for all your promotion of Lenovo, my experience is such that I would never, ever touch Lenovo again and would recommend all to avoid them. I bought my first ever Lenovo laptop in May. May 2021. It is now almost November and their service department has not yet succeeded in repairing the manufacturing fault that was there on delivery (it wouldn’t charge). Since then, they have replaced the motherboard twice, and the screen twice and are now awaiting a third screen to see if that works. This is on a new high-end X1 Carbon. The site for the unit implies that the parts might not be new and could be refurbished. Certainly the string of “new” parts they have been using as replacements have yet to produce a working machine.
It is by far the worst-ever experience of buying anything. A one off? How could it be when even the replacement parts (which I was assured would be brand new) don’t even work properly? In one brief episode of having it in my hands, even Windows Event Viewer crashed and I also had to do a paper-clip reset. Appalling.

  2. I bought Lenovo Yoga S730 in November 2019 on direct order from Japan. Just on expiring 1-yr warranty, sudden shutdown problem started to appear and laptop automatically shuts down when the battery is 50% or below. Not over 2 years of purchase, now battery does not charge and even PC does turn on. What’s hellish device Yoga S730!

  3. I am having the same issues with my LENOVO Laptop purchaced 6-22-21 I was only able to use it 6 weeks total. The motherboard has been replaced three times.

  4. I’m not sure if its only with the laptop that I brought or it is same with all Lenovo laptops

I brought a S145 Ideapad and its motherboard failed in 9 months, followed by keyboard failure.
Since it is within warranty lenovo replaced it free of cost but the problem is their service team (which is outsourced) is completely unskilled.
They have damaged my sound card while replacing motherboard and then they started claiming it is software issue.
I’ve proved that it is not software issue but later on they stopped responding to my requests.

To summarize, I striclty don’t recommend Lenovo.
One for its quality and two (most important) for their poor after sales support

  5. I bought a Lenovo 2 weeks after my purchase the computer stopped working, I sent it to the repair shop it took them 2 weeks to fix and when I got the computer back it has this wired clicking noise , when I contacted customer service they where very unhelpful they told me to send it to the same repair shop and to wait another 2 weeks this is such a problem to have for a new laptop since I work online and I am a grad student . The customer service where very unhelpful and they couldn’t understand how a total of 1 month for repair is not acceptable for a new computer, this is the worse purchase I have made nd I don’t recommend any one by this brand.

  6. One correction to your ‘Tell me more’ section. Lenovo has been around a long time because the brand started with HP. HP changed their business model in 2002 and sold off Lenovo to Legend Computers in 2003. For the next 5 years Lenovo was one of the worst computers on the market because Legend just renamed their computers and didn’t build anything up to the HP Lenovo quality standards. After almost going bankrupt Legend/Lenovo upped their game and redesigned their computers. They build many of their systems using ‘factory seconds’, it’s how they stay so cheap. It’s a crap shoot when you buy one, you might get an outstanding system and you might get a lemon. Buyer beware.

  7. I note in Mr Stevens glowing article on Lenovo computers that he briefly mentions a “minor nitpick” encountered in service. My tablet came 2 days ago and after 4 phone calls including one that I actually spoke to a person I am no further ahead in setting it up to use. During the one contact I managed, I had to repeatedly ask the person to repeat the word or sentence as I had difficulty with the dialect. Listening to the lengthy menus, my Tablet e10 was not mentioned, unless it was under a name of which I have not encountered. So, in my opinion the tech service is definitely not a “minor nitpick”

  8. I am recent customer of Lenovo. I bought a laptop on 16 Nov 2021. It turned out to be a defective model and started giving problems the very same day. I approached Lenovo for help but it’s just not forthcoming. The tech support is dilly dallying on some point or the other. How can it be a world class brand which cannot provide good customer response. I have even gone to the extent of suggesting that no refund is required by me, just change the defective laptop. Three technicians have come at odd hours of the day and the supervisor has decided on her own that the issue stands resolved. No effort to get feedback from the customer. I have lost all faith in the Lenovo company. I would suggest all to avoid buying Lenovo products. It’s absolutely frustrating to get a response from them.

  10. I just had a very bad experience with Lenovo Legion 7i. People call it the hinge-scandal. It’s quite rampant and you can google it. It was probably less frustrating if they admit their faulty product, but their service center ruled it as users’ fault, and refused to cover the repair cost while it’s still under warranty. Again I’m not alone, search in Lenovo’s forum or reddit, you will find people with similar situation and response from Lenovo. I will never ever buy anything from Lenovo again, no matter how good the review is.

  11. I have a Lenovo tablet which is slow but ok. So needing a cheap laptop for my church, I bought an i5 ideapad which is only used once a week for projecting hymns. Almost everytime it gets a windows update it needs – DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth etc. or a reinstall of windows. I will never buy a Lenovo laptop again.

  12. The above article surely seems more like a paid promotion, where the writer is purely advertising the brand and it’s products with taking into view the overall feedback posted by users.

The TabM8 8505F one of the worst purchases i’ve ever made from Amazon.
If Amazon had a rating of zero or negative, I would have immediately given it a – rating.
LENOVO is selling cheap defective Chinese goods under it’s brand name.
I purchased this tab in Oct’20 and by Jan’22 precisely in 15 months the display has conked off. Lenovo is not taking any responsibility for this cheap low class graphics display that they are using, instead they want me to spend INR ₹5000 again to repair a ₹8500 product sold by them. All that they are interested is in sales and repairs but zero after sales service.
Their website shows product is sold in Aug’20 while I purchased it in Oct.
Their Customer care is rude and mannerless and is trained to repeat the same thing like a parrot i.e. to go for a paid service. The problem is no one there really cares and they can’t stand up and vouch for their product or stand by it’s quality. It is a lesson learnt and never ever will I touch a LENOVO product again in my life. They should remove this Chinese co. from INDIA from doing any business.

Worst part is if you buy this product from Amazon they don’t give you extended warranty, while if you purchase it from their official site, you can get an extended warranty of 2 years – that’s clearly depriving a customer of his rights by purchasing from a 3rd party seller. So much for having equal benefits across all platforms.
Secondly the battery life of this tab sucks, it drains out very fast and takes forever to charge.
I would advise buyers to stay far away from any of LENOVO products. It’s a complete waste of time, money and energy.

All in all very dissatisfied with the product especially when you have experienced the robustness of the DELL and Apple. The response from LENOVO also was very disappointing. They really don’t care about their customers and know ow to lose them fast. Very bad experience!
